earthquake simulators and ladder trucks...

and a parade for Fire Prevention Week. Lots of fire trucks came down our street and people threw candy out of them!

I really, really wanted to pick up some candy, but Mommy said I wasn't allowed. I don't understand because they let me pick up candy at the Homecoming parade. Maybe it was because I was kind of nakey... the parade came right as Mommy was getting me dressed. They also told me that Maddie wasn't going to get to eat all of that candy, so I feel a little better about not getting any.

After the parade, we went to the fire station. Mommy and Maddie got to practice what to do in case of an earthquake.

You go under a table and hold the legs of the table.

Mommy says that is exactly what she had to do during earthquake drills in Utah. I think Maddie was a little bit scared of the earthquake. The firemen made it a 5 high on the Shindo scale, so it was pretty shakey.

After the earthquake simulator Mommy and Maddie went on a ladder truck.

They went up and up and up...

All the way to this high! This isn't a picture of them, but it shows how high they were.

Then Maddie went on the zipline thingy. You can see me hanging out in my stroller waaaaaaaaaaaay in the back on the left.

Maddie also got to use a fire extinguisher to put out a fire... but I think this fire was fake.

Then she helped a fireman roll up the hose.

I hung out in my stroller while she was doing all the hard work.

Right before we went home, Maddie got to get all dressed up like a fireman and put of a fire with a real fire hose that came from a real fire truck!

I hope they let me try stuff next year... or at least let me eat some of the candy from the parade!
