I got dressed in my jinbei and Maddie wore her yukata and we headed out the gate to see what this was all about.
There were lots of booths set up. This one sold octopus!
This one had hamburgers...
And there were fish that you could win here. Maddie wanted to try to win fish, but Mommy said we have enough at home.
Maddie was all sad because the chocolate covered bananas on a stick weren't ready. It was because we got there so early. I don't think Daddy and Mommy know how to read because they didn't know what time the festival started.
We were soooooo early that the decorations weren't even up!
We sat in American Plaza and ate and drank beer. Okay, Daddy drank a beer. A Japanese size beer. He wouldn't share with anyone! Maddie finally got some festival food... a sausage lollipop! She wouldn't share either. Just wait until next year when I can get my own food on a stick!
By the time we finished eating and going to the bathroom, the decorations were up, so we walked all the way down White Pole Road and looked at them.
And we stopped at the sign on our way back home and took a picture so I can see where we lived in Japan when I get bigger.
